If there is petite option - try that too! I have a collection of different washes, and some were DEFINITELY smaller then others ( like by 2 sizes ) and others were plenty roomy. ALSO, you MUST try a SKINNY MINI PANT. I have never been a "pant" person - mostly jeans, but that skinny mini is a killer. try a few colors too - they vary in fit/size by the color ( that is one thing i do not like about Gap - inconsistency. but , hey, the great fit is worth a little work in finding the right size) - deep burgundy was more snug then green, though both fit beautifully. They will also stretch, so do get the tighter version, if deciding.
